The Forum Social Media Posts
The digital producer’s role is to create visuals for social media and the printed version of my college’s newspaper. Doing this, I worked daily to create graphics about news across campus to be posted on behalf of The Forum. If student reporters couldn’t submit newsworthy visuals, I used Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop to create graphic designs that correlated with news stories they wrote. I created over 150 visuals over the past two years.
For example, a student wanted to highlight the lack of wheelchair access on campus, so I created a map that showed the accessibility issues. Sometimes these designs required me to drop what I was doing because the visual needed to be completed that night.
